A gorgeous master neighborhodd within the city limits of Houston. Development of Kingwood was begun in 1971. This wonderful wooded, subdivision was designed in harmony with nature. Pine trees, magnolia trees, and twenty other species of trees grow throughout Kingwood which is known as the "liveable forest." 

Kingwood covers 14,000 acres, with over 500 acres devoted to private nature reserves and parks. Today, over 65,000 people live in Kingwood, but it retains a small-town enviroment. The neighborhood of Kingwood is separated into twenty-one villages, with each village having its own homeowner’s association, recreation center, and community pool.

The Kingwood area is ideal for nature lovers. East End Park and Nature Preserve, which partially borders Lake Houston, is one of Kingwood’s numerous nature preserves. This park has over 131 species of birds, plus deer, otters, bobcats, nutria, alligators, coyotes, and snakes.

Kingwood residents also rally like Lake Houston Wilderness Park in nearby New Caney.

Home prices in Kingwood range from slightly over $100,000 to in the millions. Well-maintained, quality homes of all styles and sizes are found in Kingwood. Houses range from modest three bedroom homes of around 1,500 square feet to lavish five and six bedroom estate homes of over 7,500 square feet.

In recent years, many new medical facilities have opened in and around the Kingwood area. Two major hospitals serve the area: Kingwood Medical Center and Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital.
